The other night Foxtel wasn’t doing it for me, so I decided to put on an old DVD.
Up I got from the couch, knelt down and browsed my library of blockbusters from the 90′s and 00′s.
I chose Terminator II. The drive opened with a cloud of fine dust, and a slapped in the disk.
I navigated the menu, and sat back to enjoy arguably James Cameron‘s finest work.
Then, just as Arnold pulled the shotgun from the box of roses, it started skipping.
Skipping. I had forgotten skipping. I don’t miss skipping.
@BrandDNA shared this article which declares CDs will be abolished by 2012.
I think we can throw DVD’s in there too please.
The demand for the cloud to give us our media at work, home and in the car reached tipping point long ago – it’s over.
Send the disk to the Hall of Fame, and let’s get on with it.
If you would like to see my DVD collection, head down to Salvation Army on Chapel Street.
Unfortunately I’m not allowed to embed the chase scene for you, so click below and watch where we are allowed to.
